Findr is shutting down — a heartfelt thank you

Hello,

I’m writing with a heavy heart. We’re shutting down Findr.

This is one of the hardest notes I’ve ever had to write. Findr started as a simple idea. Give people a second brain so they never lose what matters. Many of you joined early, sent tough feedback, and cheered us on. You helped shape the product. You made this real. Thank you.

We tried our best for a long time. We shipped fast. We fixed things late at night. We chased the right roadmap. But we ran into hard limits. The cost to keep Findr stable and private at the level you deserve kept going up. Our small team stretched thin. Growth did not match what we needed to sustain the service. We had to choose between doing everything halfway or doing fewer things well. After many talks and a lot of reflection, I chose to stop here.

I want to share a bit more, because you deserve honesty. We tried different plans. We cut burn. We explored partnerships. We rebuilt pieces to lower latency and cost. Some of it worked, but not enough to give you the quality and long term support you expect. I could keep pushing and hope for a lucky break. I could also accept the truth and protect the people who believed in me. I chose the second path, even though it hurts.

We know this is disappointing. It is for me too. I poured my heart into this. I believed we could bend the curve with one more push. I kept a list of your names and notes, and it reminded me why this mattered. That is why this decision took time. I wanted to be sure I was not walking away too soon. In the end, the responsible choice is to end it with care, not let it fade away.

Thank you for giving Findr a chance. Thank you for the kind words, the bug reports, and the belief. You taught me what great users look like. You taught me patience and high standards. We learned a lot from you, and will carry those lessons into whatever we build next.

With gratitude,

Nishkarsh
